Empress Inara of Capitol

((With the Death of Inara officially having taken place IC lore I felt it prudent to update her bio in respect. As an OOC note, Inara is and has been one of my greatest RP characters and has a history of nearly 5 years of events and actions IC. She started out as a nobody and ended up becoming the most powerful women in the galaxy, turning a joke of an empire into a galactic powerhouse which waged a galaxy wide war. She had no special powers and was only human. As such comes an end to 5 long years of epic RP and story))

Powers/abilities: No powers, as far as it is recorded Inara is a normal human however she has most likely had augmentations and gene enhancements to increase her intelligence and lifespan somewhat above the average human.

Appearance: Inara stands around 5.6ft tall around average for a women in Capitol. Having long brown hair and azure blue eyes she also has a very alluring look, with a voluptuous body which is renowned for its beauty. Inara forgoes the usual hyped up Capitol royalty look and wears a simple green and red uniform with a pistol and energy sheath sword on her belt, medals adorn her chest from her various campaigns and even though she has a very strong look you can visibly see the disdain for those around her. When alone Inara relaxes and shows her hatred of her own people openly.

Personality profile: Inara was very stern and strong. She had to be, as Empress of Capitol any weakness was not tolerated however due to her stigma a lot of generals within the empire distrusted her initially especially after the purges. Despite her alluring features Inara is a hidden monster, able to easily kill and manipulate her way into and out of any situation having been trained and ingrained into her from birth by her father and the society around her. Not many know her true personality as her rank of Empress means she had little in the way of friends or contacts. However it is clear a rage burns inside her and her pure determination for change and to get stronger is not to be underestimated. Deep down while Inara initially hated her people she wished for change and the hatred soon turned into a drive to help improve Capitol and go on to change the face of the galaxy. Her soft side was also rediscovered when she Adopted Elena, with something to truly fight for she tempered her fire and sought to truly create a better world for her child.

Background: Born into the royal family of Capitol in Ancerious AME029 Inara never knew her mother but it was clear that she was some sort of lower class concubine that her father Garren had chosen on a whim. She was treated badly as a child and always placed as second best despite being constantly pushed to be greater. Her brother Tallaran always was favoured by her father and by the command staff as the next prodigy, Inara was abused by her brother and father and even by other commanders. Discarded by her own family Inara learnt to fend for herself in the harsh society of Capitol. It was hard but she constantly trained herself, tactically and physically as much as she could learn everything possible. In secret she built herself up with some help from lesser known Capitol commanders. However she got close to one of the Capitol commanders, a girl of her own age called Alaca. When her father found out about this relationship he was ablaze with fury. With same sex relationships punishable by death Garren had Alaca publically executed in front of Inara, and stained Inara with the stigma of being weak and a lesbian. With this Inara was consumed by rage deciding that she would change the nation by any means and swore to kill her own family, to climb to the top and to change Capitol to her own image. After her 18th birthday Tallaran decided to take advantage of his own sister, Inara caught off guard managed to stop the large boy and with all of her rage and hate behind her killed him with a letter opener. Knowing that she could never turn back she used this opportunity and it was her first step towards power. Blaming it on one of the Capitol commanders she despised for ‘jealousy’ her father the Emperor had the man flayed alive and had no choice but to focus on Inara. 

She received more training during this time and rose through the ranks, hiding her disdain and hate for those around her. She did however use this time to make many friends, manipulating and planting seeds within many. Inara planned to move against her father and try claim the throne but the plans changed when the fateful charge on the Immortal Empire took place. Kept behind by her father during the 1st Ancerious war she heard the news that he and the forces of Capitol had been utterly destroyed. With her father dead in the Xantan system Inara was angry that she could never end him herself, still the opportunity was open. She took the throne in the ensuing chaos and power vacuum, using all the friends and links she had made during her time learning to subsequently purge the entirety of Capitols high command, government and noble houses, replacing them with people loyal to her she made plenty disappear who had haunted and abused her. With the purges having been conducted she turned her attention to properly reforming Capitol. Slowly Inara made her plays, immediately emancipating all Capitol born slaves and revitalizing the economy in huge sweeping policies. With Capitol gaining new technology, better training, a stronger economy and even turning to diplomacy with other nations such as the Axioms, Shadowblade the old enemy of the Immortal Empire and more Inara became the champion of the people.

Unlike all Capitol leaders before her Inara ruled with an even and fair hand, with many social and economic policies leading to huge boons of the Capitol people. With popular backing at an all time high she could even walk among her people, meet them and be what any normal leader would, something truly unheard of in all of Capitol history. While she implemented many secret organisations to keep the peace behind the scenes her liberal policies had many opponents but they were either beaten into line or disappeared. With Capitol rapidly rising on the galactic stage thanks to the turmoil of the Aedalshaven incident known as Uprising Inara used her new power to secure many alliances and even won over a truly staggering economic deal with Triarch Industries and EPA. With Capitols military becoming a true modern fighting force the allies, now constituted into the AGA began to see Capitol as a threat and the first standoffs occured between the AGA and the soon to be founded Ancerious Pivotal Powers or APP for short. While Inara built Capitol on the grander galactic stage she also sought power behind the scenes, turning to the Axioms and specifically Shifting Mirrors in an elaborate plot to help the Blinker gain Axiomhood in exchange for military aid against the AGA in the coming war. She also made pacts with larger powers such as the Draconian gods, but it was a pact with the Draken, a dark force which was thought to be destroyed which Inara was influenced by the most. They would resurrect her dead wife and aid were able in exchange for Inara to destabilise the galaxy for them. While she had no intention of paying these debts she wished to manipulate them for whatever benefits she could get in the now rapidly approaching war, sadly these pacts would ring true in the end.

With the 2nd Ancerious war beginning after failed diplomacy between the two powers Inara spent most of it helping oversee the military campaigns. With Carnaith, the Union and USM all being invaded. However as the war dragged on Inara was forced to look to other avenues, as the APP made massive initial gains the AGA started to claw back once its nations focused on the conflict and more nations joined the AGA. As such the Crucible was constructed, overseen by Inara as a huge superweapon that could destroy a solar systems star and make it go supernova anywhere in the galaxy. With its successful firing it destroyed several systems before being discovered by the allies and destroyed. Inara herself was angered at the now backfoot that her alliance was in as the USM then made a retaliatory strike on Celefra, nuking the capital city and killing millions. Still it was Inara who personally helped in the search and rescue missions heedless of safety who rallied her people and came to find a young girl trapped under the rubble, her parents were killed. Inara adopted Elena and along with Alaca raised the girl. It was during this time despite the slow downfall of the APP and the inevitable defeat that Inara had her happiest days, spending time with Elena and loving the girl and her wife as a true family. With something kind and fragile to fight for Inara started to see the war for what it was, and began to regret her decisions. Even as her own people began to turn on her and Rubikon was invaded Inara tried to pave the way for a clean and easy transition under allied occupation preferring it to a bloody subjugation. Inara saw that to save her people their old ways must be cast aside. Despite making several last ditch military and strategic moves to harm the allies Inara sent her wife and child away to be safe even as Capitol descended into anarchy around her. With multiple attempts on her life Inara officially surrendered to the AGA and ended the 2nd Ancerious war. With Capitols occupation and being hated by much of the known galaxy Inara was imprisoned in the Silver Cradle in Union space for approximately one year. There she was debriefed, ringed for all the information she held and kept until the proper trial could take place, even writing a memoir called ‘Daybreak’ which was helped smuggled out by her Carnaithian acquaintance Celia. When the trial did finally come she would be found guilty on multiple charges and sentenced to death by lethal injection. Despite discovering that she had fulfilled the pact with the Draken to destabilize the galaxy she died knowing that her goal to free the galaxy from the AGA rule with the AGA now falling apart and the uplifting of her people had been completed and that in one final act of compassion was forgiven of her actions by the Angel Saffire. Inara then died at 5:34pm AME060/9/8.
