Olympus Capitol Carrier:

Overview: The Olympus is one of the only ships in the Capitol fleet not designed around close frontline combat. Equipped with large hangars the Olympus is one giant fighter bay. Carrying Sabre class fighters and Phalanx bombers these are deployed to defend other Capitol ships and destroy enemy attack craft. The Olympus will typically hang back from the battle due to a reduced armament though it still retains the Medusas armoured hull. The Olympus is usually escorted by around 8 Icarus class escorts. It also can perform long range attacks using its Tachyon arrow in additon to its attack craft complement.

Armament: The Olympus is equipped and built around a single Tachyon Arrow, it also mounts 10 dual 480mm rocket assisted cannons for engaging enemy ships.. It also mounts 35 light rocket assisted cannons for additional armament.

Rocket Assisted Cannons: These are very simple and old designs used when mankind first left earth. These cannons launch rocket assisted shells at medium velocities and are packed with high explosive to cause maximum damage to enemy craft. These weapons while outdated do high damage if impact occurs but due to the shells having not that fast speed and no targetting correction in flight Capitol uses them to blanket an area for maximum results. Though some of the more advanced versions have tracking.


Tachyon Arrow: Capitol and the Union both ventured into the realm of Tachyon weaponry, the Union deemed it while extremely powerful to be far too unstable and dangerous to be put to good use. Capitol on the other hand weaponised it and despite the horrific number of accidents in development the Tachyon Arrow was born. Firing a concetrated bolt of Tachyons these particles travel hundreds of times faster than light, meaning instantaneous contact. At those speeds as well the damage is outright severe and so 3 shots is enough to down the shields of most cruiser vessels. Thanks to the nature of space as well this weapon is potentially unlimited by range.

Defenses: The Olympus mounts around 6ft of reinforced titanium crystal armour plating capable of surviving limited impacts from kinetic and energy weapons. The Medusa as well is protected by a medium shield generator capable to taking many direct hits before it needs to recharge again.

Power plant: The Olympus runs on 8 Fission nuclear reactors for energy, any radioactive waste is either jetsoned into space or kept ready to launch onto enemy planets. These allow the Carrier to be powered, though if they take a direct hit the ship will be destroyed.

Electronic capabilities: The Olympus is run by a outdated machine computer capable of aiding the crew in targetting and also control of the ship. The crew mainly have complete control. This means Capitol ships are easily hacked but alas the computers in their ships are so old and outdated most hacking programs or Ais cant virtually fit into their systems.

Crew: The Olympus has a crew of 750 men. All of which are human and most of which are pilots. Around 40 are commisars.

Attack craft: the Olympus mounts 2 extremely large hangar bays which run the length of the ship and open out to both sides. Together these contain around 300 Sabre fights and 75 Phalanx bombers, plus refueling and repair stations for each.

Speed and engines: the Olympus is equipped with an Nuclear ram drive and can reach speeds of up to 0.65 Light speed meaning it is an average cruiser.
