Tartarus Capitol Bombardment Cannon
Overview: The Tartarus is unlike any other Capitol vessel for it is a floating cannon. With minimal crew space, life support and engine power the Tartarus has one role. To destroy enemy planets, orbital installations an even other large ships. Its main gun uses linear accelerator technology taken from the Union to launch a massive nuclear shell at the target. This shell contains enough power to shatter a city in one shot and can easily break the shields of enemy ships. The cannon itself has minimal defense an usually hangs back with Olympus carriers in support. It typically has 8 Icarus escorts to defend it.
Armament: The Tartarus has minimal defenses but its armed with its Nuclear bombarment cannon,other than this is has 6 480mm rocket propelle cannons for defense as well as 12 smaller cannons. Together these can hold off enemy escorts and light cruisers.
Rocket Assisted Cannons: These are very simple and old designs used when mankind first left earth. These cannons launch rocket assisted shells at medium velocities and are packed with high explosive to cause maximum damage to enemy craft. These weapons while outdated do high damage if impact occurs but due to the shells having not that fast speed and no targetting correction in flight Capitol uses them to blanket an area for maximum results. Though some of the more advanced versions have tracking.

Its shells have a 150MT nuclear charge at their centre, more than capable of wiping out a heavy cruiser in one shot. Alas ue to the size of the cannon it can only carry around 8 shells before needing to be restocked.
Defenses: The Tartarus mounts around 4ft of reinforced titanium crystal armour plating capable of surviving limited impacts from kinetic and energy weapons. The Tartarus as well is protected by a medium shield generator capable to taking many direct hits before it needs to recharge again.
Power plant: The Tartarus runs on 5 Fission nuclear reactors for energy, any radioactive waste is either jetsoned into space or kept ready to launch onto enemy planets. These allow the Cannon to be powered, though if they take a direct hit the ship will be destroyed.
Electronic capabilities: The Tartarus is run by a outdated machine computer capable of aiding the crew in targetting and also control of the ship. The crew mainly have complete control. This means Capitol ships are easily hacked but alas the computers in their ships are so old and outdated most hacking programs or Ais cant virtually fit into their systems.
Crew: The Tartarus has a crew of 150 men. All of which are human. Around 10 are commisars.
Attack craft: the Tartarus mounts no hangar bays.
Speed and engines: the Tartarus is equipped with an Nuclear ram drive and can reach speeds of up to 0.45 Light speed meaning it is fairly slow.

We remember these, Multiple Tenebrean Flotillas had to defend multiple systems against them in the Talaso Skirmishs Several decades ago in Ancerious. it was a long and relatively bloody campaign.
