The Battle of Xantan:

The Battle of Xantan was another of the large conflicts in 1AW, Capitol, then under command of Emperor Garren Inaras father, was manipulated by the demon Sotek into attacking the Immortal Empire with all its strength. At the time the forces of Capitol were laughable, and while the Emperor attacked Xantan personally with a massive force he was killed when the Immortal empire T-10 super dreadnought fired its Void Distortion cannon into the flagship Garren was on. Dead and in disarray the Capitol forces resorted to a back up plan, and one of revenge. Bypassing the Immortal Empire defences they fired a captured Union plasma coil missile into the star. Undergoing immense titanic upheaval Xantan went super nova almost instantly. The shock-wave destroyed everything in the system and its death throes disrupted FTL jumping, leaving all those in the system condemned to die in one final act of vengeance.
