Description
Union Research and Development Department:
The Union Research and Development Department is an area which has expanded exponentially in the last century, with a section dedicated to nearly every facet of life its massive size and ingenuity have enticed many to come and work within its boundaries. Always working to improve, reverse engineer or construct something entirely new the department has been instrumental in the victory of the Union against certain enemies, developing new weapons and armour. Not just that but new power generation, civilian help and medical procedures and medicines. It will continue to expand and grow over the coming years and is currently focused on reverse engineering any Nakai technology it can get its hands on to help the war effort.
Sub Departments:
Military research: This department is solely for the progression of the armed forces. Constantly seeking to upgrade current weapon and defence tech or create new ones this department goes by many names the most common being the ‘crazy boys at the lab’ as they are most often referred by the troops. Either way the department undergoes massive testing on its products and inventions before using them or sending them off for battlefield testing. They also work alongside the soldiers taking in opinions and wants of soldiers and trying to improve or incorporate those wishes into new designs.
Civilian research: solely for the purpose of developing civilian life this area dedicates itself to improving communications, information transfer, transport services, available products and medical services. Often working with a lot of customer and consumer feedback this department is seen as a behind the scenes helper which improves the people’s lives. There are even areas which are dedicated to finding out the best concentrations of people ratios and tower block layouts…
Materials research: Materials Research section is dedicated to the improvement of mining and refining of materials as well as developing new alloys for construction or even armour. While this section is the smallest out of the main four it provides crucial improvements to the resource extraction and refinement areas of the Union of Worlds and works closely with the Labour department and the mining areas.
Energy commission research: Exclusively made to improve power generation for the Union in both civilian and military application it was the Energy Commission research department which cracked cold fusion and eventually reverse engineered ZPM technology from Nakai documents. However right now they are trying their hardest to miniaturise the Singularity cores which have been reverse engineered from the Nakai however this is still a time consuming and hard process and while some prototypes have been made they are few and far between.
