Union Super Heavy Companies are fairly rare but often used in certain situations. Primarily used as either linebraker formations or anti Colossus units these companies while small can pack the fire power of at least 3 mechanized companies hands down. Formed around the use of Achilles Ultra Heavy tanks a veteran commander keeps the formation rolling no matter what and can co ordinate with other companies even in the thick of the fighting.

Company Command Tank: using the protection and firepower of the Achilles to make himself known the commander of the super heavy companies has access to some of the largest firepower groups in the Union and using the tanks sophisticated systems he can easily take command of other elements.

Support Tank Detatchment: 6 Seraphim MBTs support the super heavies by engaging smaller threats, providing heavy recon or stopping flanking manuvers. they typically operate together but spread out around the Achilles and work closely with the heavy tanks.

AA detachment: 3 AA tanks of either: SPAAG (Quad cascade cannon OR twin 50mm railguns) or Hellfire AA launchers to provide additional AA support to the Achilles AA capability. Engaging enemy aircraft or gunships that may threaten the super heavy tanks, or even engage (if SPAAG) enemy missiles acting as large point defense.

Recon Detatchment: two Whirlwind battlefield observation variants provide the company with vital inteligence and recon allowing them to make their attacks more effective and give them measures of enemy strength and locations. These fast moving vehicles typically operate independantly from the company and hide away or find high ground to give the best scans for the Super heavy tanks.

Achilles Ultra Heavy Tank: armed with a twin 650mm Rail cannon 2 155mm rail cannons and multiple smaller cascade cannons and laser projectors the Achilles is more than a match for most armies, able to withstand barrages thanks to its heavy Armour and shield generator this tank takes on the Colossi of other races and destroys them, eliminating their threat to the Union forces. Achilles also function as line breakers who can destroy and advance over the toughest defensive lines. Achilles tanks also have a measure of air defense in the way of 2 Viper AA turrets mounted on its main turret, these can work together with other Achilles and Hellfire launchers allowing them to make an impervious air defense web in addition to a hundreds of miles kill zone on the ground.

These are nice! Tenebrae is continuously impressed by the unions weaponry.
I have some new heavy tracked artillery in the works, Although they may never come to play in the GFA Canon though. but either way, once they've been finished. I Want to do a few sheets like these as well.

I Think that They'll play a bigger role in the ancerious group then the GFA though. I Think that it's about time that we started paying more attention to the plotline there. At least after we finish up the plot's we have going for the GFA. The two one's were doing i mean.

That would be an excellent event to get the group up and going again. it has been getting rather quiet there as of lately.
I'll be willing to help in terms of what captain Golan and his crew will be saying during the event.

but ye best be wary: Crystal-Metal phase shifters aren't affected by shields, and they reduce the molecular structure of metal to sand. the Nightside is quite fond of the looks on the faces of shielded opponents when their weapons suddenly crumble to dust and shields are rendered irrelevant.

thats fine its not like Achilles ant capable of taking multiple hits from those sorts of weapons, the Draken used a type of dark matter weapon that does much the same thing. and be thankful we will be deploying these against the Nightside soon, the kill radius they have is eneromous thanks to their main guns :)

A way around that, and a simple one at that would be to utilize ultra hard plastics, ceramics, and sub-molecularly bonded glass. In the construction of weapons, personal shields, ammunition, and armor, Particularly firearms. no metal for the Phase shifters to affect.

IF you cannot find a way around the tools Your Enemy utilizes. find a way to adapt your military to them.

i would be wary, however. Nightside tanks have Baltech armor, which, besides being impervious to energy weapons, is generally hard stuff. it has to be mined with aggregated diamond nanorod drills and hand tools as it shorts out energy devices that come in contact with it. i would inform any men relying on powerswords to stay away. high-powered Kinetic weapons are more effective, so break out the rail guns.

the Nightside has developed Phase shifter mines that wait until the target rolls over them before dispersing a cloud of the energy up into the bottom of the vehicle, taking out it's transmission or tracks, immobilizing it before hacking away at the armor.

and then there is the shield breaker cannon.....

well thankfully most of our military hardware use solid projectiles more than energy weapons.

and we have a cannon that completely bypasses shields as well.

BREAKS is something else entirely. you ever seen a planetary defense shield shatter like glass?

Breaks is worse than bypasses breaking a shiled would just mean it would have to be raised again. And surely shattering something insubstantial is impossible thats like braking water... Surely deactivating it would be better.

remember, these aren't mere conventional weapons. we're dealing with mystics as well as science. and it's probably some of the most advanced science that can be encountered.

something that's merely deactivated can be turned back on. plus, deactivating it would require getting through the shield, so they'd be back at square one. scary square.

instead of merely shutting it down or destroying it, the Nightside prefer to go with the psychological effect that comes when an apparently fully functional shield, still flickering overhead, isn't even stopping raindrops, never mind artillery and tanks, and enemy troops are walking through it like it's not even there.

the shield breaker cannon doesn't just knock the shield out, as if it were overloaded: in fact, the shield will be completely unharmed.

what the shield breaker does is similar to the shatter beam, though on a much smaller scale.
the resonance of the cannon pulses back to the generator, where it forcibly shunts the shield into "null space" as the Nightside call it. the shield generator is still running, the shield still visible, but it's now only shielding a barren abyss in another dimension, one second out of sync with our three-dimensional plane of existence. in short, it's bonds on the three-dimensional plane are "shattered."

it only works on energy, however, hence why they don't just zap opposing armies out of existence.

but then all it needs to be is recalibrated. Union shields function on a number of diffrent dimensions anyway (to stop attacks from races like the Shadows and Draken who use phase technology) so we switch it back to this state or just turn it off and recalibrate it the hard way
