The Magister

"Before I knew it my men were shooting each other, entire companies of veterans who had lived and fought as brothers suddenly shooting each other at point blank, their faces cold without remorse or regret. Their eyes filled with a different kind of light, a light of something that wasn't human or sane. Some of us were not affected, I stopped my orderly who I had known for 5 years by shooting him in the head. His eyes... His eyes were not his own. That was when the swarm hit us, anyone that was still alive died under a living tide of Draken, and at their fore... I will forever remember that day, the thing that floated above them, it was like malevolence incarnate. The Magister we called it... If evil had a form that would be the form it took. We were lucky to escape, of my men... I still think about them to this day..." Union Captain Hollister during the Draken war.

The Magister:

One of the 7 Draken commanders which were encountered during the Draken war the Magister was one of the most feared. While the other commanders tended to lead from the front, running with their endless swarms into the fray they could at least be shot at. But the Magister always floated above the swarm, just behind the lines. Eerily graceful the Magister had the abilities to infiltrate and control the mind of sentient beings which it came across, turning Union men and women of all races against each other before the swarm. Where the other commanders excelled in various forms of brute force combat or tactics the Magister was subtle, preferring to execute fear and confusion, with terror tactics directed by Draken stalkers to kill commanders or random pacts of troops most armies that fought the Magister fell apart under fear and confusion, only to be then swept away under a tide of Draken. The Magister itself was also surprisingly powerful, able to turn tanks inside out, rip the souls from living things and conjure otherworldly powers. While the weakest physically of the commanders the Magister was eventually killed properly after Xanthos destruction, as before like all other commanders the Magister would resurrect every-time it died. Unlike say the Soul Monarch or Toxin the Magisters background is unknown, however the seemingly Nakai glyphs on its form suggest it may like the Soul Monarch have been some kind of corrupted Nakai commander of high ranking stature, however it is not known, but this theory is given credit by the fact that the Nakai did report a being similar to the Magister in the first Draken war.
